SUU: ART 3240
(Typography II)
Feb-Apr 2010
Faking Nostalgia is a book of poetry that was produced through collaborative effort by myself, the poet, and an illustrator all enrolled at SUU. The objective of the project was to take a collection of poetry the author had been writing and work together to create a finished product that would reflect the style and topic of the poetry. The book consists of 23 spreads, measures 7×7″ and was published through Blurb Books, Inc.
My role was as creative director and designer. I set a schedule and deadlines for the team, led discussions about concept and visual aesthetic and was responsible for proofing and production. I was also able to exercise my typography skills by designing the layout and creating custom-embellished titles for each of the poems and the title of the book.
